Largely unexplored by anyone other than locals, peace and quiet can virtually be guaranteed along with fine tramping and fishing opportunities. The Pohangina Valley is lovely at any time of the year whether you are swimming in one of the many secluded swimming holes to escape the hot dry summers or standing awestruck by the colourful autumn leaves.
